COVID-19 FAQS

May 27 • 4 minute read

COVID-19 crisis has been very difficult for all of us.  Many of you have rescheduled your dental care, and we appreciated your understanding while we kept our office closed to help control the spread of the coronavirus.

The office resumes regular office hours on May 18, 2020.  Some patients are concerned if it is safe to get dental treatment at this time.  We want to reassure you that we have always been sterilization experts who closely monitor guidance and any new rulings on infection control, including recommendations made by:

·       CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)

·       OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration0

·       CDPH (California Department of Public Health)

·       CDA (California Dental Association) & ADA (American Dental Association)

·       LAC OHP (LA County, Oral Health Program)

Here are some of the frequently asked questions about your dental appointments:

·       How do I know the office is safe and fully disinfected?

Our office has always followed strict infection control guidelines.  With the new guidelines and recommendations from CDC, OSHA, and ADA, we increase the frequency and thoroughness of our sanitizing procedures and follow all safety procedures.

·       Is it safe to sit in the waiting room?

Staff cleans the waiting room throughout the day and pays special attention to wiping down chairs, door handles, pens, clip boards and other things patients frequently touch.   We made changes in the waiting area and our scheduling to allow for increased physical distancing.

·       Have any of your patients tested positive for the coronavirus?

We have not had any patients tested positive.  Patients are screened for symptoms of COVID-19 before coming to the dental office for their treatment.  Patients are screened with the same questions when they are in the office.

·       Have any of your staff members been sick or tested positive for the virus?

None of our staff members in the office are presently ill.  Staff members are screened for COVID-19 symptoms beginning of each work day.  Their temperature is checked at the beginning of the work day.

·       Should I cancel my appointment if I am feeling sick?  Should I cancel my appointment if someone other than me is sick in our household?

You are feeling sick or anyone in your household is sick, or under quarantine for any reason, we would postpone your appointment for at least three weeks.

·       Should I come to my dental appointment alone?

We continue to practice social distancing at our office.  Patients are asked to not bring others into the office, unless they are parents or guardians of patients who are minors.  If someone accompanies a patient, they will be asked to wait in their vehicle or outside the office.

Please do not hesitate to call the office or Dr. Anna Lee if you have any questions or concerns about scheduling your dental appointment.  Now, more than ever, it is important that you take care of your health.  Dental health affects your overall systemic health.

Please let us know if there is anyone in your house that does not have a dentist.  We would love to take care of them!
